My Greatest Fear !!
How does fear begin to manifest and become a reality?
I believe the concept of fear is stirred up in the heart of a person. It starts of as a tiny seed in the depth of your soul. In the moment of conception, you have the power to crush it or fertilize it to grow and increase. It starts with a little worry; which begins when you hear, see, or feel something. It then increases as you begin to ponder and spend time feeding into it or fertilizing it and spending time, over and over just pondering over the subject.
This fear can increase over time and manifest in various ways; loss of appetite, sleep, refusal to engage in various ways, or just constantly looking over your shoulders. You become anxious, tired, might get sick and start getting worn out because you are feeding into that small seed that popped out.
When Jesus came and died on the cross for us He came that we might have life more abundantly. John 10:10 states :
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
Jesus came to give us life more abundantly meaning: “Abundant life” refers to life in its abounding fullness of joy and strength for mind, body, and soul.
Fear derives from the feeling of the opposite of life more abundantly. Fear is a feeling of lack, emptiness, and dissatisfaction, and such feelings may motivate a person to seek for the meaning of life and a change in their life.
It is simply a manifestation of what happened in the garden of Eden according to Genesis 3:1.
Fear comes about when we step outside of the will of God for our lives. We try to do things in our own strength. You feeling the need to take ownership outside of the abundant life God have promised you.
This reaction could come about from what you see, hear, feel, and find yourself constantly around. Your circle which is your family, friends, and even acquaintances inspires fear. Who do you find in your circle, is very key to activating or prevent the germination of the seed of fear?
It might start off as a concern and then as you become highly alert and paying attention to that particular thing or area the enemy comes in and sows the seed by speaking to you as he spoke to Eve in the garden, by possing a question that, goes against the Will of God for your life. When you listen to him and receives this seed, you've bought into his schemes.
The scripture below describes what our greatest enemy is constantly doing on regular bases.
1 Peter 5: 8
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
The enemy is constantly on the lookout; watching, plotting, observing, and just looking for very passive ways to sneak in without you noticing what is going on, for him to sow that seed. Our mind is the soil in which he sows this seed and it is up to us whether this seed will sprout of not.
The root of fear is from the enemy. Now as you ponder and fertilize it or taking actions to prevent that thing from happening then you are going into a covenant for that issue to really manifest in your life.
The snake spits out fear as a poisonous venom into the atmosphere. You have the power to allow it to spread or to grab the cloth and tie that area and get it to the doctor to treat the infected area that you've been bitten. Go to God to talk to him about the situation.
You exercising continues fear releases more venom into the situation and it becomes an open door for the enemy to use against you in various ways.
As the enemy roams to and fro seeking whom to devour when he sees an opening which was caused by fear He seizes the opportunity.
Indirectly you just invited the enemy into your situation and also made your body available for the poison to flow and become chronic.
What are you afraid of??
Is it your health, job, security, etc.. it becomes an open door 🚪 for him to come in and manipulate.
Your fears make you vulnerable, it exposed you and makes that thing you are afraid of, a target for attack.
Fear causes you to defile God and His promises for your life. You go against and step outside of the Will of God, which causes you to lose the Lord's security. Your protection banner have been removed and you become completely exposed to the enemy. When we step outside over the imaginary line which is the Will of God by taking the matter into our own hands, we force God to step aside and the enemy comes in and takes control.
This is why when Adam and Eve choose to submit to the enemy and succumb to his demise, they were driven from the garden because of the choice God has given us, we take matters out of His hands.
The scripture Matthew 6:24 states we can only serve one master and not two, so when you yield to the enemy through fear you've empowered the enemy and dismissed God in that situation. Thank God for His grace that will use our church, family, and friends to stir you in the right direction.
Due to the grace of God, He will always find a way to deliver us no matter how far we go from under His banner. The love of God reaches us even beyond the mighty oceans.
How do you exhibit fear??
-Worry/ anxiety which worsens and becomes depression
-Taking control
-Doubt
-Insecurity: resenting and focusing on areas of lack by your’s or the world's definition.
-Comparison: the need to be like someone or better.
-Desperation: deep desire for something which leads to compromising situations to attain or satisfy that need.
-Been selfish: It's all about you.
-Range and anger: Outburst or out of control reaction to an area of frustration.
These and many more are the manifestation of fear. When you become scared if you do not attack it with what the word of God says about that situation, it will increase. When an ounce of fear arises speak the word of God in that area of your life.
If it is fear of feeling inadequate, speak a verse like Philippians 4:13
I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
If it is the fear of death, speak a scripture like Psalms 118:17
17 I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.
Choose abundant life by speaking the word of God over that particular situation. Go to google or the bible app and find out what the word says about that particular situation.
I will end with this story. According to this scripture, Job feared to lose his children, his wealth, and all that he had. With this constant fear, God allowed for the enemy to take all that Job feared he will lose. Well, at least his life was preserved.
For the thing which I greatly fear comes upon me, And that of which I am afraid has come upon me.”
Job 3:25 AMP
My dear friend, I want to encourage you and also myself for us to choose our thoughts, words, company we keep wisely to prevent the spirit of fear from been planted and germinating in any aspect of our lives. Today God we choose life and life more abundantly. I refuse to let fear rule and predict the outcome of my life.
Prayer: Father God we submit our hearts, mind soul, and spirit to you. Please come in and rid out every ounce of fear that has been sown at any time in our lives. We invite you into the depth of our spirit to flush every stage of fear that has been germinating in us today. God may you purify our hearts and minds for you only. Give us the desire to feed on your word so that when the enemy tries to sow seeds of fear we will use your word to attack that seed in the name of Jesus. May ever fear be crushed permanently in the name of Jesus. I pray that you pour out your spirit of rest, peace, and faith to arise over us in Jesus's name. Amen!!
