Good evening family,

Thank you all for coming on and been apart of the conversation. I appreciate all the support and the prayers from those of you who have been backing me up in prayers with the Facebook Live discussion.

Today we are continuing the steps to gain healing from “ Daddy Issues”!

Last weeks we talked about the first step which was

  1. Identify the Problem & Repent”

We discussed the prodigal Son’s story in connection with the origin of sin through Adam and Eve in the garden submitting to the devil. This caused us to move from under our covering and hedge. It began the broken family system. This dysfunctional system has manifested from generation to generation.

The enemy has distracted us in a good way by preying on our selfishness and causing us to focus on only ourselves or our family unit forgetting that these issues have impacted masses of people. The attack is against the Kingdom Of God and not just you and I.

Today we will be discussing our second point which could be someone else 1st point if you are not a believer.

The first step I shared last week was for those who are saved but have fallen astray and have gotten off track. Like the Prodigal Son, you are invited to Come back Home to your Father.

A. Seeking God: There are two separate approaches in this phase. If you are a believer then this is how you seek the Lord. No matter what happens in our lives seeking the Lord, and finding out what He is saying about the situation is key. What does He think, what His word says about this matter?

But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33”.

A. Seeking God For a believer

this is what it will look like to seek God :

1. Inviting God into your situation through praise and worship.

Praise is a great way we usher God into every aspect of your lives. (Read Scripture below ) is a great place to start.

Prayer : God, I praise you, and I invite you into these gates of my life “ the void my dad or my mom left in my life and the issues it has caused in my life”. I thank you for allowing this situation in my life because it has brought me back to you. I bless your Holy Name. ( each of these areas might take a while based on how you feel.) If possible take an inventory of all the areas in your life and go down the list inviting God into those areas 1 at a time.

100 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.

2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.

3 Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people and the sheep of his pasture.

4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

5 For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.

2. Spend time before the Lord praying in the Spirit if you can, if you can’t then (just meditate in the Lord ) for a few minutes. During this time you will be listening to divine instruction on what the Lord wants you to do or where he wants you to begin the “ daddy issues” healing. Write down whatever the Lord brings to mind. Find out what scriptures the Lord wants you to meditate/or pray over yourself in the Word. ( this process can take as long as the Lord leads you.

3. Gather the information that the Lord has given you and begin processing the issue the by Lords leading concerning this matter. The Lord might give you dreams, visions, revelations, or remind you of something in your childhood, in your father's childhood and or your mother's childhood, etc.

4. Follow the leading of the Lord every step of the way as The Lord connects the dots or pieces to the puzzle and as He starts working on the other parties involved hearts. Example: The Lord might lead you to call a relative or your parent etc..

B. Seeking God: For a Non- Believer

Seeking God: Will begin with you accepting Jesus as your Lord and savior. If you have heard about God before and just not sure well, accept Him into your life and allow Him to take residence within your heart.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

For, ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’” (Romans 10:13)

Question a non-believer may have:

i) Who is God?

The following scriptures will introduce God to you.

1 John 4:16 ESV

So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Colossians 1:16

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities — all things were created through him and for him.

Revelation 22:13

I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

John 14:6 ESV

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

ii). After accepting God Into my heart then what now?

When you accept Jesus as your Lord and savior you become a Christian. You become Heir of the Kingdom of God. These are some scriptures showing your benefit in Him.

You are saved: 13, I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

Colossians 2:13–14. 13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made youa][a] alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.

You are Loved: Ephesians 1:4–5 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 hea]”[a] predestined us for adoption to sonshipb]” through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will —

John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You are a friend of Christ : John 15:15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant, does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

You have a new life in Christ: Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

You can resist temptation:2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Do not be afraid to face temptation. The temptation is allowed by God to strengthen and refine us. The enemy using moments of weakness during trying times to distract us. Like the scripture 1 Corinthians 10:13 states;

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

Revelation 22:12–17

2 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.

14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give youa]” [a] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!” Let the one who is thirsty come, and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.

Sinners Prayer

Dear God in heaven, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I acknowledge to You that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins and the life that I have lived; I need your forgiveness.

I believe that your only begotten Son Jesus Christ shed His precious blood on the cross at Calvary and died for my sins, and I am now willing to turn from my sin.

You said in the bible that if we confess the Lord our God and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead, we shall be saved.

Right now I confess Jesus as my Lord. With my heart, I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead. This very moment I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior and according to His Word, right now I am saved.

Amen.
