The Lord’s Plan and Purpose for my Life: Jesus my course corrector!!
Scripture: “So it happened, when Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was nearer; for God said, “The people might change their minds when they see war [that is, that there will be war], and return to Egypt.”
EXODUS 13:17 AMP
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been studying the book of Exodus. The journey of the children of Israel out of Egypt. I’ve been just intrigued by the story which has had me stuck for a while reading a few chapters over and over. I finally made it to Exodus 12 which is when Pharoah finally agrees for the children of Israel to leave Egypt.
In chapter 12
“The LORD said to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, “This month shall be the beginning of months to you; it is to be the first month of the year to you.”
EXODUS 12:1–2 AMP
They probably didn’t understand what God meant when he said, this month shall be the beginning of months to you. This was a promise and blessings been poured out on the children of Israel. God was preparing them for greater things, he had in store for them after they had suffered for 430 years.
If you notice when God sent Moses in the earlier chapters, He protected his people strategically from all the plagues.
God is so amazing that every step of the way, He has prioritized the safety and welfare of his people.
He made no mistake at all! The children of Israel were protected continuously, and God’s plans didn’t have any cracks or loopholes because of His sovereignty(his ability to know the future and everything it consists of all at once).
I paused just thinking about how every detail of God’s plans for His people was well calculated. We serve a God that is purposeful, detailed oriented and spiritually, physically and emotionally aware of us.
Isn’t that amazing?? Thank you, Lord, for being so mindful of us.
I progressed to Exodus 13: 17 which was my main point of reference talking about “God’s Plan”!
In this verse which is very short, however, it details a little bit of God’s sovereignty (forward-thinking) while He planned for the children of Israel.
He reveals that there was a shorter route to lead them out of Egypt, but he mentioned even though it was a “short route” it would lead them to back to the land of the Philistines, which would have caused war and their fear would have led them back into slavery.
A few weeks ago, I had talked to a man of God and asked him some questions I had from reading Exodus. He had mentioned this part of the scripture but at the time I wasn’t there yet.
While reading exodus 13:17 I marveled at God knowing the hearts and minds of his children, so much so that even though it was a shorter route he said, I’m going to take you through the longer route. He had in mind that not only will they see His faithfulness but the signs and wonders would confirm what He had said in the previous verse; “it’s your beginning of months”.
They were in for a treat to see the greatness of God as they traveled through the wilderness but this route even though it was longer won’t return them back to slavery.
In short, I just want to encourage you and help remove possible doubt from your mind and my mind about God’s plans and purpose for our lives.
As we journey through life as Christians, we all have our personal Egypt that we have come out of and are heading towards the promised land in our Faith walk.
Make no mistake that every part of your living plan, have been calculated purposefully and God is aware, of every detail of your life. He’s fully taken account of all your paths in life, whether short or long He knows the implications, He’s aware of it all and sees it all. This scripture confirms this for you and me: Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”
Do not let the enemy confuse or cause distractions and bring doubts to mind.
Your life story is been written by the best written in all of humanity, God makes no mistakes. There is nothing that He doesn’t account for as He takes you through the wilderness “ Life”.
You are His elect, the apple of his eyes, his precious Jewel, as the Lord gestured through His death and resurrection. His way of saying, I love you and you are valuable to me,
Be encouraged and stand firm and rest assured in him for He is sovereign and will take care of it all if you depend and trust in him in everything and at every crossroads.
In conclusion, I have been practicing how to rest in the Lord, because usually, I am a busy body. During this time of rest, the Lord has given me visions, definitions in various ways, and a deeper revelation of who He is to me. The scripture: Psalms 46: He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
This short verse I have had to rest in for over a month and the revelation keeps pouring out of it. I a folder recording what the Lord has been revealing to me over this period of time. One of the characters of His that was revealed was as I meditated on “Be still and know that I am your God” was that God is my, My Course corrector! This means that God in His grace and mercy will always correct my path when I go off track. Meaning with this knowledge I can rest assure that I will not go off track at all in every aspect of my life.
This calls for celebration because I can relate with the children of Isreal since He made sure He corrected their path, making sure they did not fall prey into the hands of their enemy. If I can just rest and rely on the Lord He will make sure my every step and path is aligned according to His plans and purpose.
Well, I will end here and urge you to rest in this by chewing on Him being your course corrector. Let the Lord lead your life and design your path for you. May He set Things in motion for you and carry you through all the ups and downs life present. May He be your navigator as you rely on Him for directions. I am praying for you to continue to remain strong and not to grow weary. The King of glory and the author and finisher of your story is not done yet writing your story. He will help you narrate it every step of the way. I will expand later on to the course corrector.
Remain Blessed. In Jesus name!!
